WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELNG CENTER.
The word always is taken from the Greek phrase, enpantikairo. The word en means at, the word panti means each and every day, the word kairo, is the Greek word for times of seasons. When all three of these words are used together in one phrase, en-panti-kairo, they would be more accurately translated, at each and every occasion. It could read, at every opportunity, every time you get a chance, at every season, or at each and every possible moment.
For each occasion, there is a prayer, but and occasion is a time for praying in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit, or praying in tongues(I Corinthians 14:4) edifies or builds you up to make you sensitive to know the needs of others so you can effectively pray in faith for them.
Supplication in the Spirit is a phrase that refers to Romans 8:26-27 and Jude 20 where the Holy Spirit assisted prayer is taught and directed. Paul clearly shows that such praying may include praying in a tongue not known to the person praying.
There are several types of prayer found in the New testament:
1. Prayer of consecration
2. Prayer of petition
3. Prayer of urgent need
4. Prayer of thanksgiving
5. Prayer of supplication
6. Prayer of intercession
7. Prayer of faith
8. Prayer of agreement
9. United prayer
Read Ephesians 6:19; Colossians 4:3 and I Corinthians 16:9.
From verse 10 Paul has focused on spiritual warfare. It is ultimately for the opening of door so that the ministry of the Gospel may be advanced.
In biblical thought, the term mystery means something formerly hidden, but now revealed, which people cannot understand except by divine revelation. The mystery of the Kingdom of God means that the kingdom of God has come in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, in His word and works. It is a kingdom which began to penetrate the human situation in a new way in and through His ministry, which continues to do so through the church. This kingdom awaits ultimate consummation at the end of the age.
Only by faith can one recognize in the lively figure of Jesus of Nazareth, the manifestation of God's rule. Read Mark 4:11 and Ephesians 6:20.
AMBASSADOR- the Greek word is presbyoooh. Literally to be the elder, and later, to be an ambassador, a representative of a ruling authority. Ambassadors would be chosen from the ranks of mature, experienced men. To be an ambassador for Christ necessitates spiritual maturity. Because Paul was bold to speak the gospel, he was now in prison. But he asked for more boldness. The gospel meant more to Paul than a man's threat and confinement. He says that, even though he is in chains, he is an ambassador.
He says, That I my speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ought to speak means that he will speak at the right time. There is an important clue. You need to pray to the Lord that you will know what to say and also know the right time to say it. Paul here pointed out the importance of knowing when to say the right thing. Read Ephesians 6:21-22.
Tychicus not only carried the epistle to the Ephesians, but he also gave a personal account of the conditions of and the prospects for the apostle Paul. Tychicus, the pastor of the church at Ephesus, is an example of the many faithful servants of Christ in the early church. The apostle Paul had great confidence in him. Read Ephesians 6:23,24 and II Timothy 4:6-8.
Paul is ending this book in the attitude of love. His is not bitter in prison, btu still care for the saints. He ministers peace, love with faith, and grace to them all. He close with a two-fold benediction. Most of the great words of he gospel are contained in it: Peace, love, faith, grace. Peace was the form of greeting of the Jewish world. A sinner must know the grace of God before he can experience the peace of God. This is the peace of God which passes all understanding.
Love in verse 23 means love for the other believers. This is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. In verse 24 the love is of the believer for the lord Jesus Christ, and this love is in incorruptibleness (a better translation than in sincerity).
Faith means faith in christ which produce active love. These flow from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace is the key word of the epistle. It opened the epistle (1:2) and is the subject of the epistle (2:7-8). It now concludes the epistle. It is a fitting word because it is God's grace which saved us and which sustains us today.
If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."

Pastor C,
Once again, a well designed and developed Hub on a very important though often misunderstood concept. When to pray.
What to say, and the right time to say it. For as the Holy Spirit provides us with all these things, we doubtless need the wisdom to transfer this to ourselves. The proper delivery in the proper context solidifies and thus fortifies the power and meaning to those who truly need to know it.
Often, the Pastoral Epistles are misunderstood or simply not given the importance they should be. In Matthew, as an example, we learn to pray in solitude so as not to be looked upon as the Pharisees were. Hypocrites seeking 'Man's Glory' which is something their very being craved at every opportunity.
Let us all remember that prayer is to God and should not be directed to nor showcased for those around us. It is something we do to maintain our intimate relationship with God. Vain repitition for the sake of edifying ourselves ain't gonna get it with God nor those around us.
Pastor C? Thank you.
A great reminder for us to pray and give thank,s to God for his blessings,
God Bless
I pray everyday. I think prayer is an excellent way to stay connected to God.

Spending time daily in prayer is so important to our spiritual growth! The Word tells us "man should always pray and not faint!" That we should also "pray unceasingly!"

drpastorcarlotta, a poignant hub on the virtues of prayer. I never cease to learn, or recognize a new meaning from you. I think the realization of the fact that having something important to say and recognizing it as such, it often has the most power or importance when loosed in the proper time or season. We get the knowledge to perceive it through prayer.
Blessings and prayers, 50
Thanks for this wonderful hub - I love how you broke down the nine types of prayer found in the NT. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Be Blessed!
Dr.Carlotta you address the subject of prayer quite masterfully as a Doctor of Divintity and a Pastor should do. You spell it out in detail all of the good and proper reasons for prayer, which as a simple lai-person I accept and do, but what about seeing God as "My Father" and simply having an everyday conversation, to share the beauty my eyes see,as I walk, or drive,or of a fish jumping in a stream, the feel of a cool breeze caressing my cheek or a cold winter's morning, as the cold awakens every fiber in my body, the sounds of the various birds chirping around me, a hawk, a crow, a robin, a cardinal, and being happy that God would want to share such a moment and view with me.
Prayer is very important for all of the reasons you state, but can we not just have a normal conversation wit God our creator.
Brother Dave.
Wonderful Hub! God bless you and your family and great work.
I agree that we should spend as much time in prayer as possible, as that is the only way that we can overcome sin.
I love your simple explanations that break down to the basics of prayer.I feel some how and in some way the work that we do takes us away from prayer instead of brings us close to God.I get so focused on providing for a good life and working alot to make ends meet time is twisted and time to pray is cut short.I now have learned to quietly focus on any time during the day especially in work(my busiest times) that provides me with an income to live.I think some people think prayer and life and work and are busy life styles are seperate rather than one.I also like to have a pen handy to release any thoughts on paper while I pray.To clear my head for more healthier and peaceful ways of life.I feel in time I have uncovered one more feeling that was hidden deep in my mind that I am willing to share.Thoughts that I think sometimes come out of thin air.I believe it is my true gift I want to share. One that takes thought and creates love long before action. For me love is feeling it before seeing it.Dreaming it before having it.Thank you for always shedding light on so many different subjects. Please God help my love flow in more directions than I will ever know.Have a wonderful day with the support of all your loving friends.
I love what you have said about every time we can. There are days I feel the Spirit all day. I speak or think about Him almost continually. I Loved it when a Muslim commented on one of my hubs about he prayed 5 times a day. Boy he did not like my response. Praise God for your Words from the Spirit. Amen
I pray every moment of my life in my mind for the forgiveness of my sins, and for everyone I love, and for all souls, all of God's creatures. Wonderful hub. Love You, and All That You Love. GBY

Sure is good to see someone explain a lot of the phrases we have from the Greek, It really helps to see how our one word in English is a combination of words from the greek, excellent hub,
