Be wise in your decisions!

I THINK OF HER OFTEN

WELCOME TO PASTOR DR. CARLOTTA'S COUNSELING CENTER.

The story that is being told is true.

The nightmare began one day while I was at home relaxing in my living room in 1989. I was siting in my recliner when all of a sudden I felt a strange feeling that came over my body. The feeling was a concern for my sister, a feeling that something was wrong! All of a sudden without warning I jumped up shouting her name DEDE! There were two young gentlemen there with me that was startle and run to my side.

I called my mother and asked her has she seen my sister and she said, "now that you mention it, I haven't seen her why do you ask?" I went on in explaining to her my terrible feeling I had while relaxing at home. I asked her could she please go to her house since she was closer to where she lived and check on her. She told me she would go and get back with me later.

After 30 mins. or more my mother called and told me my sister wasn't home but her lights, T.V. and the fan was on and it smelled in there. But no sister in sight! I asked her how did she get into her apartment? She told me the door was unlocked! She said she was going back home and would check back with her later.

After hanging up my phone, I sat down wondering why was her door unlocked, where is my sister and why did I have that terrible feeling that came over me. Still worried, I called my mother back and told her that something wasn't right, go back!

She did but this time she took my other sister with her. As they approach her door again, the door was still unlocked and as they walked in, that same smell was still lingering through my sister's apartment. My mom called me and told me about the smell and that's when I told her to call the police. After she did she called me back and I asked to speak with my sister. I ask my sister to open the closet while I was on the other end of the phone.

As I was waiting on the phone for a response from my other sister, a loud scream I heard and then silence. My heart started beating faster, harder, and then the news that I didn't want to hear came true! My sister came back on the phone saying, "she's in the closet dead!" Hog tied with duck tape over her mouth and nose! I lower my head as I sat with the phone dangling in my hand. She was just 29 years old.

Have you every wondered how you would deal with a death of a family member?

Her outcome of this death was because of her drug use and trust. I tell this story because my sister was dating a young man that was a killer that already served 18 years in prison for killing two people prior to dating her and she knew it. I often wonder what was she thinking, that he would not kill her? She was on drugs and he was too! Drugs will alter your thinking, make you think your invulnerable!

Lucky is now in prison again, this time with life without parole. He was eligible for the death penalty but our lawyer said not to go for this because he could appeal it years down the road and not get it. Instead we ask for life without parole.

In our journey in this life we must be alert, discerning, in prayer, watchful, wise, and most of all in Jesus Christ. BE WISE IN YOUR DECISIONS!  I often wonder, did my sister ever accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, this was my main concern for her. I truly miss her. I love you DeDe.

If you haven't accepted Christ as your Savior simply say in an audible voice, in all sincerity from the depths of your heart, "Lord Jesus Christ, forgive me of my sins and accept me as Your child. I accept You as my personal Savior and I promise to follow the instructions of Your Word from this day on. If I fail because I am human, please help pick me up so I can try again! Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from all my sins. AMEN."

Very sorry to hear of your loss. When someone we love chooses drugs over everything else, they often feel "dead" to us before they actually die. The drugging life is no life at all.

I wish you sister had chosen a healthier path.

At least (although I realize this is little comfort) you know who killed her and he is being punished.

Good luck forgiving him and moving on in your life. MM

DrPastorCarlotta, How very unfortunate to have this happen to your sister... I am dismayed knowing there are those who have no respect for life and for whatever reason willing to takes some one’s life... No doubt she was experiencing a great deal of emotional pain that caused her drug abuse... Here unlucky, Lucky no doubt took advantage of this… I pray the Lord gives you peace for He is; The God of all comforts!

It is amazing how the Lord has a way of letting us know that some thing is not right? It is an inner proceed with caution … It is important to be mindful that the enemy does desires to hinder us in anyway he can, as well as do us possible harm. I always say “if you are not subject to God. You are subject to do anything…”

“In our journey in this life we must be alert, discerning, in prayer, watchful, wise, and most of all in Jesus Christ. BE WISE IN YOUR DECISIONS.” Amen! You are so right! Not that we have to live in fear? But yes it is SO important to be aware & PRAYERFUL! We can also be certain of eternal life! This is what also motivates us to encourage others to develop a relationship with the Lord through Jesus Christ.

We need His Holy Spirit! Thank you for sharing this, may the Lord Bless and Keep you as you share The Gospel with others! In HIS Love, Joy and Peace, GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I am sorry to hear about your sister dying in this manner. If she was saved she didn't really die but merely passed through the valley of the shadow of death. And you will see her again. Take heart my sister and rejoice in a Lord that loves you. I will pray for healing.

Unfortunately, the story of DeDe and Lucky is the story of many caught up in the winds of self-destruction. Their tragic end is always grievious for those left behind who loved them. I say this from my own experience of losing a beloved in a similar way. We pray that Lucky find the Lord while there is still breath in his body.

DrPastorCarlotta, I rejoice with you (and others) in the unfailing love and mercy of our Lord. We thank Him for giving us a unique sensitivity born out of experience, and empowering us, as members of the "Fellowship of the Broken," to minister to the hurts and pains of our brothers and sisters according to His divine will.

Thank you for sharing your loss and allowing us to share our empathy and love.

Bonded together in the suffering and blood of our Savior!

Forever His,

Hey big sis. I was just telling my wife about this same incident last night. I woke up this morning and you have it posted here. I've been in a series of near misses myself, and a lot my family members as well. God obviously carried us through those dangerous situations. As I was reading this story, the song "It could've been me" came to mind. I remember your sister and I was saddened to hear of her passing, especially in such a tragic way.

I am truly blessed to have you back in my life now because I can feed off of your motivation and drive. I will always look up to you as my big sis. I am proud of you as well, because I know personally where you have been. I will be praying for you. Love, Keith

This had to be a difficult hub to write .. but BLESS you for sharing it. God prompted you and prepared you because of your own discernment and relationship as HIS child. You said "In our journey in this life we must be alert, discerning, in prayer, watchful, wise, and most of all in Jesus Christ. BE WISE IN YOUR DECISIONS!"

I have a niece in a drug REHAB facility right now. I pray she will develop the character qualities you list above. She is turning to GOD and I praise HIM for what I see HIM doing in her life.

May God continue to use your life messages to reach people for JESUS. He has said in HIS word ... "I am the way, the TRUTH and the LIFE, no one comes to the FATHER except by me."

Bless you dear SISTER!

Hello again

My father was killed by a car while crossing a large street in Novi Michigan, going to work. Trying to get to Ford Motor Co. He left six children and a wife. Yes he might have been drinking, He had just got paid. He did work the night shift. But we never blame the driver. My brother blame God. Sometimes I think about the man that kilt my father. I only hope the last 25 years he was able to live and not always looking over his shoulder thinking that the man he ran over children were out to get him. I once tried to find him just to tell him. We never had any bad feeling toward him. I only hope he was able to live and his life, and his life didn't die with my father.

Rose Ella Morton, thank you for stopping by again! To forgive is one of the greatest blessing to the forgiver! I had to do this many, many times and I have seen the rewards from it! One thing I do know, the person has to forgive themselves as well, and has to face the punishment for what they have done. Prayerfully, they can live through it and get on with their lives. Thank you for your story, it touched my heart! Much love!

D.P. Carlotta, you as I know the evils of drug addiction and the treacherous game one plays in it's grasp. I'm sorry to hear that you have been touched by the worst of the addiction realities. Sorry is never enough in these instances, but I don't know what is. I am willing to offer my prayers for you and your late sister, as it's the best I have. I am glad that no death penalty was sought, I don't support the death penalty as many do. I've seen all the killing I care to see, as well as I say no to abortion and cannot say no and yes at the same time.

Much love and peace, 50

Drpastorcarlotta, Praise God Almighty for His amazing grace. No one should have to suffer like that because of mans evil behaviour. You are a beautiful soul and if God led you to share your sad story then, He has a very good reason for doing so. Maybe there are others reading this who need to know the love of God. And the gift of forgiveness. God bless you for sharing this tragic story my friend and sister in Christ.

What happened to your family is horrifying. My prayers are with you. The fact that you "knew" something was wrong is a testament to the faithfulness and love of God. For Him to awaken you to this tragedy before it was discovered tells me that He wanted you to know that He was still in charge and that He is with you. I imagine the pain He felt knowing what had happened. The thief He warned us about. The one He said would come to steal kill and destroy. Taking the life of one precious to Him. I see His awakening you to what happened as proof that you are not alone in this tragedy. You are a dear, sweet, bride of the King. He is with you always.

Drug abuse sweeps away innocent lives in gruesome manner. No matter how authorities do to warn everyone about its deathly end, the more people, especially the young ones, are lured into trying it until they are hooked and can't find a way out.

I'm sorry you lost a sister due to drugs. If it may give you and your family a little comfort, I'll pray that the Lord considers her other goodness in her while alive (that I'm sure she has) that will merit her to His welcoming arms. God bless her soul.
