CONFRONTATION

Hello and WELCOME to Pastor Dr. Carlotta Boles Counseling Center.

Walking in the Spirit keeps us from being offended by the truth of God's Word. If we are walking in the soul realm, we will be offended many times when the truth comes. The religious leaders of Jesus time had a difficult time accepting the truth from Him. John 8:12, 13. The Pharisees said that Jesus was lying. Jesus continued to speak truth to them and they would challenge, for they did not understand it. John 8:21-27.

When the truth comes, the soulish person will have a strong defenses to deflect it or misunderstand it, because the soul does not understand the things of God and hates to change. The soul will deny the truth and challenge the one who is delivering it. The soulish walls of the religious leaders were high and thick, but Jesus kept hitting them with the truth, desiring that something would finally get through their defenses and prick their hearts, so they could repent. John 8:40-45. It happened to only a few of the Pharisees. Their religion kept them from receiving the truth!

Jesus hit them with bold words, direct words, hard-hitting words. He did not speak diplomatically to them. When the soulish walls are firmly in place, a hint will not get the message across. Only a bold frontal attack will break through the hardness of the heart. Roots of pride, rejection, fear, rebellion, self-will, bitterness and offendedness are in the hearts of men. It often takes a bold, anoited word coming from the heart of God to blow those roots out!

Jeremiah was a confrontive prophet. He was anointed to confront problems and root them out. Je. 1:7-10. Everything we can see in verse 10 is a push. It takes confrontiveness to root out, pull down, and destroy, as well as to build and plant. The strength of Jeremiah"s ministry was the Word of the Lord that was in his mouth. God's confrontiveness will root out and plant. It roots out the wrong and plants the right. Confrontiveness without God's prompting and direction will destroy, without planting.

Spiritual leaders must be led by the Spirit! A pastor who, out of his own soul, confronts the flock because of what he sees, will scatter them. The one who confronts out of love and the Lord's direction will confront and root out and plant, without scattering. A flock cannot change and grow under wrong circumstances. Leaders who are standing in the way of God's move will be pulled up and discarded, while those who will flow with God's direction will build and plant.

Confrontation is a large part of the new move of God, because holiness will not come without it. Some things we have gotten away with in the past, but will not do so in these last days. Jesus is coming for a Bride who is with spot or wrinkle. We will never get to that condition if the unholiness in our lives is not confronted and gotten out of our lives.

Hi Pastor C -

I appreciate this hub and it speaks to me as I am a bold person, gifted prophetically as well as evangelically. I tend to be more confrontational with the body of Christ more so than the world however. This past week, I experienced a confrontation from a friend at church saying I'm participating in contributing to division...in fact, I composed a hub here on hubpages sharing some of our exchanges, giving a background with my motivation being to warn others about a real and current scheme of the enemy. After 12 hours, I deleted it because Holy Spirit told me He didn't need ME to do that. Anyway, could you illustrate with an example where you've said: A flock cannot change and grow under wrong circumstances.

Some in our body are all for embracig moves of the Spirit and want to see the 5 fold ministry in operation where there are others who are more conservative and traditional....our Pastor wants to please everyone but he is open to the gifts in operation.

Hello Christinekv, and thank you for your comment! What I meant by a flock cannot change and grow under wrong circumstances is a Pastor has to be careful on how he or she confronts. To judge rightly, among other things, means that you will take the time to carefully gather data.l You will make no snap judgments. For instance, you will take the observation in Proverbs 18:13 seriously. You will not guess. You know that your own conclusions, unaided by the guidelines laid down in the Scriptures, are bound to be flawed. You will lovingly give the benefit of the doubt (I Corinthians 13:7). You will believe a counselee until the evidence proves otherwise. All this and more is summed up in the statement, "Don't judge unrighteously" (John 7:24). Notice from that exhortation that a wrong judgment isn't merely a mistake, it is a sin (it is "unrighteous"). So what a Pastor do with his flock is a serious matter. You may not take it lightly. Blessings and sorry for getting back to you so late!

Drpastorcarlotta, This is "speaking the Truth in Love!" Praise God! You are so right I have seen too many congregations split because of personality conflicts...

"A flock cannot change and grow under wrong circumstances. Leaders who are standing in the way of God's move will be pulled up and discarded, while those who will flow with God's direction will build and plant." So true!

"Confrontation is a large part of the new move of God, because holiness will not come without it. Some things we have gotten away with in the past, but will not do so in these last days. Thank you for sharing, In His Love & Blessings!
